We are pleased to have submitted a planning application to Test Valley Borough Council for a residential development in Awbridge, on the outskirts of Romsey, following a Public Consultation held in the village in March of this year.
This scheme is for 38 new homes, a proportion of which will be of an affordable tenure, and a new pre-school; a key element of the project that will support the highly regarded village primary school, part of the University of Winchester Trust.
We had a superb turn out to our Public Consultation with some very useful feedback from the mostly local residents that attended, which has modelled our subsequent application. The desire to include a level of affordable home ownership possibilities was evident and is something we have addressed in our scheme, with the intention that these homes will be prioritised for those already residing within the location.
Bethan Larcombe, Executive Headteacher of the Wellow and Awbridge Primary Schools commented, on behalf of the Trust, “we were very pleased that so many of the attendees at the Consultation agreed with the proposal of a pre-school that will in turn support the future of the primary school, as a thriving early years educational provision can do so much to support the community as a whole”.
The scheme will showcase the traditional architectural styles for which we are well known, blended with our distinctive, contemporary interiors, all set within a strong landscape design and with areas of green open space for all to enjoy.
This project is also supported by our partners: Allen Pyke, Blueleaf Projects, I-Transport, Macra Ltd, MJA Engineering, Pro-vision (ecology), Technical Arboriculture and Thrive Architects.
